Kyle Ranson
President and Chief Operation Officer of InFocus®
Kyle Ranson is President and Chief Operating Officer, and has been with InFocus®
since April 2003 when he accepted a position as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing.
Ranson’s career in the high tech industry includes a series of executive sales, marketing and general
management assignments that span nearly 20 years. Prior to InFocus Ranson held executive level positions
with Compaq and Hewlett Packard and various roles with Newberry Data and Vickers Defense in both the United
States and United Kingdom. His business expertise spans the globe with hands-on experience in all major
global markets.
A native of Newcastle, United Kingdom, Ranson graduated with honors from Brunel
University in 1985 with a major in design engineering and a minor in computer science.

Kyle will bring a fresh perspecitve the summit by sharing lessons learned
from the PC business that are relevant to the thin display industry. Kyle
joined InFocus with a wealth of experience in the PC industry both at Compaq
and HP. He will describe his view that the projection business is now at a
point where the PC business was a decade ago, transitioning for an
enterprise focus to a consumer focus. He will also answer the burning
question What can we learn from vodka?
Allen Alley, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Pixelworks
Allen Alley is co-founder of Pixelworks and has served as President,
Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Pixelworks since its inception. From 1992 to 1996, Mr. Alley served as the
Vice President, Corporate Development, Engineering and Product Marketing for In Focus Systems, a leading
electronic display company. While at InFocus, Mr. Alley also was the co-CEO of a joint venture with
Motorola, Inc. called Motif. From 1986 to 1992, Mr. Alley was a General Partner of Battery Ventures, a
venture capital investment firm. From 1983 to 1986, Mr. Alley was the Director of Mechanical Computer
Aided Engineering of Computervision Corporation, a computer-aided design software developer. From 1979
to 1983, Mr. Alley was a Lead Mechanical Engineer at Boeing Commercial Airplane Division. From 1976 to
1979, Mr. Alley served as a Product Design Engineer for the Ford Motor Company. Mr. Alley holds a B.S.
in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.

Projectors 2014: A Look Back
As the digital projector industry continues to mature, the opportunities for looking in new directions for projector applications exists. In this address, Mr. Alley will look at the barriers which will need to be overcome and opportunities that abound for using projectors in ways not yet possible.
